TeamworX on the Forefront in Developing Sustainable Construction

Sustainable Construction

23 Feb 2025

TeamworX, a leading construction consultant in Indonesia, strives to work on more sustainable building constructions in the future. The company has finished several sustainable construction projects with GREENSHIP certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) over the past three years and continues to handle eco-friendly construction projects for both new and existing buildings.

Rahmat Priana Mustafa, Technical Director at TeamworX, explains that they always encourage clients to incorporate eco-friendly elements in building or revamping their facilities.

“We always introduce the concept of sustainability to our clients, suggesting they consider energy savings and carbon emission reduction before starting any projects. This includes everything from choosing the materials to deciding on the building’s systems,” he explains.

For TeamworX, sustainable construction means considering environmental impact at every stage, from the design of its architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems to the building’s operation.

Rahmat also notes that GREENSHIP certification requires buildings to comply with GBCI standards, and TeamworX’s role is to ensure client compliance throughout the construction process. Their commitment to quality is long-standing, as evidenced by their ISO 9001 certification on quality management systems, which they’ve maintained since 2007.

Several GBCI standards that TeamworX implemented on each construction site include maintaining clean roadways for trucks carrying materials and implementation of proper waste management system by the contractors to prevent environmental impact from construction debris.

TeamworX’s successful sustainable construction projects include Mattel’s 16,800-square-meter factory in Jababeka, Cikarang, West Java. It provided Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) services to build Mattel’s sustainable factory, which received LEED Gold Certification from USGBC on December 5, 2024.

TeamworX is also currently working on an ongoing project for the Aspen Medical Hospital in Depok, Indonesia. The 24,000-square-meter sustainable construction project aims to receive Platinum GREENSHIP certification from GBCI. In this project, TeamworX is a member of Emerald Hospital Design, a joint venture between Deerns, TeamworX, and Dutch Health Architects. The hospital will be the first facility in a hospital network that aims to set a new standard for accessible, sustainable, and future-ready healthcare in Indonesia.

Beyond new construction, TeamworX also undertakes projects to revamp existing facilities, making them more sustainable and more eco-friendly. One example is their project with Coca-Cola Euro Pacific from 2022 to 2024. In this project, Teamworx helped assess and implement structural strengthening at Coca-Cola Euro Pacific’s facilities, enabling them to support the weight of numerous solar panels installed on the roofs.

Also for all of the industrial building projects of TeamworX, Rahmat mentioned that sustainability and energy saving is promoted.

“Over the past three years, more clients have become aware of the environmental impact of their facilities and have shown a serious commitment to sustainable practices. We are happy to accommodate their needs by providing end-to-end services to build eco-friendly and sustainable buildings,” Rahmat concludes.
